Indian Internet services Market has around 388 ISP licensee as per latest list issued by DOT in December 2011. Categorised as A,B and C according to geographical or area of operation allowed. 102 are PAN India ISP Licensees which are Category A Class ISPs. 186 are Category B Class licensee which are of a state or classified as Metro and 100 are Categroy C class ISPs of a city,district in a state. ISPs have also been allowedto provide VOIP services in their licensed area.There are around 300 active or commercially operational ISPs in india.
